Summary
This article explains Enhanced License Board Action (ELBA), a feature in the PT App that expands visibility into state licensing board disciplinary history. ELBA may surface older board actions that were not previously included in reporting due to broader data coverage. As a result, some providers may now display Board Action indicators even though the action itself is not new. This enhancement supports more comprehensive compliance oversight and risk evaluation.
Overview
Enhanced License Board Action (ELBA) is a feature within the PT App that expands the visibility of state licensing board actions. ELBA broadens ProviderTrust’s coverage of disciplinary records so organizations can see a more complete history of actions taken by state licensing boards.
What ELBA Does
With ELBA, you may see Board Action = True for historical board actions.
This typically occurs when:
The board action took place in the past, and
It was not previously included in board action reporting coverage but is now captured through expanded data sources.
In these cases, the action itself is not new—only the visibility of the action has changed.
What This Means for Your Organization
ELBA enhances compliance oversight by providing:
Greater visibility into disciplinary actions from state licensing boards
More comprehensive compliance insights to support risk evaluation
Improved historical reporting, particularly for long-tenured providers
By expanding coverage, ELBA helps ensure your screening results reflect a more complete disciplinary history.
Potential Workflow Impact
Because historical actions are now more visible, you may notice:
An increase in records flagged for Board Action
Board Action indicators appearing on providers who previously appeared “clean” in historical results
In many cases, this reflects expanded coverage rather than a newly issued board action.
Questions or Support
If you need assistance interpreting a result or understanding how ELBA fits into your compliance processes, ProviderTrust’s Support Team or your Account Manager can provide guidance.
