Summary:
This article reviews how to review DynamicNPI license alerts. When filtering to the Alerts section, you can navigate to all outstanding license alerts in a Needs Review status. When a single alert is selected, the alerts overview page will provide a detailed alert history, showing both primary source and provider data. Users can update the progress status and add notes in the Status History section after investigation. Any data corrections must be submitted through an Individual File upload or API.
Watch this 3 minute video on how to review a DynamicNPI license alert
Step 1: Accessing License Alerts
From your dashboard, locate the Alerts Overview by Product section at the bottom right of the screen.
Click on the Licenses category within either the Needs Review or Under Review status columns.
Alternatively, you can select the red Needs Review Alerts beneath the Alerts Overview, but this will require additional filtering to display only license alerts.
This action will take you to the Alerts page, which will be automatically filtered to display all current license verification alerts.
Step 2: Viewing Alert Details
From the Alerts page, select any alert row to open its details view.
Note: If your file feed includes only an NPI and not a first and last name, the Name field will appear blank.
At the top of the alert details, you’ll see a summary that includes:
Source
Result
Creation Date
Note: If a name was not included in your feed, it will not display beneath the alert type.
Step 3: Reviewing Source and Profile Data
Below the summary, the alert details are divided into two sections:
From the Primary Source (left): Information is pulled directly from the licensing authority.
Subject Profile Data (right): The data submitted via the integrated file.
Within the From the Primary Source section, scroll down to locate the license screenshot.
Clicking the image will enlarge it for easier review.
Step 4: Reviewing Status History
The Status History section, located below the source and profile data, records all updates related to the alert. This includes all Progress Statuses (e.g., Needs Review, Under Review, Resolved) and notes made by system users. All notes and status changes are automatically timestamped and recorded for audit purposes. Once entered, notes and statuses cannot be edited or deleted.
Step 5: Reviewing Alert History and Making Updates
The Alerts History section displays all other active or historical alerts associated with the individual selected.
If any corrections are required to provider data, please submit updates through your Individual File Upload or API integration.
Important:
When alert data changes, the alert will automatically revert to Needs Review status.
All alerts must be reviewed and cleared—even when the license renews or returns to an Active status.
