Overview
Organizations with contracted DynamicNPI Instant Searches can perform National Provider Identifier (NPI)-based queries to identify matches across multiple federal and state data sources.
Available NPI Matches
Given an NPI, DynamicNPI offers comprehensive verification, including:
- Federal Exclusions
- State Sanctions (also referred to as State Exclusions)
- Medicare Opt-Out Status
- NPI Validation
- State License Verifications with screenshots
- DEA/CDS validation
- Board certification through ABMS
- CMS Preclusion List*
*Please note that the CMS Preclusion List is not included in the standard package; it requires a Delegation Agreement and a client-provided CMS Preclusion List.
How to Search by NPI
To perform an NPI search:
Enter the 10-digit NPI number (numerical digits only) into the NPI Search field.
If the number is improperly formatted, the following warning message will be displayed: "Please enter a valid 10-digit NPI."
NPI Matched Result Types
The Search Results page is divided into two sections for review:
- Credentials
- This section returns all NPPES Licenses and ProviderTrust Network Licenses identified by a label and includes DEA/CDS Validation
- This section includes board certifications verified through the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
- Sanctions
- This section includes Federal Exclusions, State Medicaid Sanctions, CMS Preclusion List, NPI Status, and Medicare Opt Out
If issues are found during an NPI search, a red 'Issue Found' indicator will appear in the Results Overview display.
If there are no issues found for an NPI Search, there will be a No Issue Found indicator in green within the Results Overview display.
